Deciding to undergo any significant medical procedure can be a daunting experience. If you find yourself facing an unplanned pregnancy and considering abortion as an option, it is crucial to gather all the necessary facts and process your emotions and options in a safe and confidential environment.

At Waterleaf, our medical professionals will walk you through what’s involved in abortion procedures. We also offer no-cost pregnancy services and consultations with no judgment. Learn about your next steps below.

Learn which Abortion Procedure is Available to You

If you have already taken a positive home pregnancy test, you’ll still want to follow up with an ultrasound.

Ultrasounds provide critical information that determines which abortion procedure is available to you. This includes:

  • How far along you are
  • If your pregnancy is progressing
  • Where your pregnancy is located

These results can determine your eligibility for specific abortion procedures and alert you to possible health risks or conditions, such as a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, which require procedures other than abortion. Some abortion procedures, such as the abortion pill, are only FDA-approved at certain gestational ages. Knowing how far along you are can help you avoid a procedure especially dangerous for your situation.

Ultrasounds are free at Waterleaf and no insurance is required.
